I was in utter shocked when I read this astonishing article by Reyhan Harmanci. Photography has become some what of a debate by a man named Rick Norsigian. This man had taken a rebellious risk, boldly accused Ansel Adams, a famous photographer, of stealing his film negatives. Of course, chargers were dropped due to the lack of vital evidence. But that hasn't stopped Norsigian's determination of "justice". He stated, "I'm not ever going to quit." Ever since reviewing this article, I've reminisced over several questions - Why would anyone dare to blame a well-known artist like Ansel Adams? Could Mr. Norsigian be accurate on his outrageous complaints? I guess nobody will ever know the honest truth. But it seems that photography isn't as inadequate as some people put in out to be. Maybe, just maybe, it is considered a fine art, but it's a personal opinion to each individual. Would you defend your art if someone tried to snatch your creative masterpiece and claim it to be their own?

A Debate Without Any True Compromise
If you ask any person who has taken photography as a sincere passion, they will state that the Film vs. Digital conflict didn't begin with this specific article that Autumn Lockwood has written. Many think digital is not the traditional way of expressing images to the world; others tend to criticize the expensive prices of maintaining supplies for the film. Digital SLRs might have decrease in the outrageous price tag, but if you want extra equipment and a variety of particular lens, that will definitely steal money from that bank account of yours. On the other hand, film photography has been cherished by many around the world, and is known as the original way of processing photographs. I've been blessed because I have had the opportunity to experiment with both medias during school and other events outside. And I firmly agree that both are equal in my hobby of snapping moments. Which do you think is a better, more dramatic media? Film or Digital?

History of Photography
As a photographer myself, I have truly been deprived of how this wonder I call a hobby first was founded. It has literally stunned me as to what elements that have established cameras of this modern era. The word photography actually is based on the Greek meanings of "to draw" and "light", which its pretty ironic considering my whole debate on drawings verse photos. The whole picture-taking history pioneered in 1827 from the camera obscura, or better known as a pinhole camera. I have indeed experienced this pinhole skill by making my own in Creative Photo 1. There were alternative techniques originated after this one, like negative processing and flexible rolls. It was not until the year 1905 when the first 35 mm film camera was used by a man known by Oskar Barnack. Digital photography seem almost impossible before Canon created this invention in 1984. By today's standards, that might seem like such a miniature gadget, but Canon has become a world-renown company, and keeps on expanding. There's loads of more information I could keep babbling about, but I think you can take things from here by clicking the link provided below. You will honestly be amazed by the growth of something we overlook as a normal object. http://inventors.about.com/od/pstartinventions/a/stilphotography.htm

The Reason Behind My Interest......
Have you ever been to a certain art festival and your surrounded by tons of fascinating paintings? And there's only a few, underdog photographers displaying their abilities? Throughout the society of artistic wonders, photography seems to always be succumbed by the works of acrylics and watercolors. On the other hand, I tend to prefer the variety of emotions and reasonings for each captured image. People, these day, glance at photos thinking its just another awesome picture and nothing more than that; what they don't realize is the message the artist has brought to your obvious sight. Each photo has a specific, unique motive, and only the true, determined analysts can fully comprehend it.
When my English teacher presented this project, I knew I had to explore the debatable opinions of others around the world about photography. For this blog, my goal is to discover about this topic more in depth because photography happens to be an vital part of my sanity. Without photography, there would be a puzzle piece lacking from my true personality.
